a treat, but not what you might expect..

I've got 2 of these mics in my kit list and have owned them for some years now.

The M2 as a vocal mic is alright but really it's quite selective in who's vocals it works with and the mic's polar pattern (at least at those critical feedback frequencies) is what you might describe as sensitive, not for someone who likes to take a mic around stage and suddenly drop there hand in front of the monitors! (unless theu have exceptional control over the mic switch).

However where this mic excels for me is on guitars this mic is a welcome alternative to micing up regular guitar cabinets, I particularly love using it off axis to the point that your actually side addressing the mic capsule, it gives (at least to my ears) a tone that can cut right through the mix without being piercing and fatiguing, and better still on stage the tone generally plays very nicely along side other amps miced up with the more conventional SM57 or e609/e906.

Overall not what you might expect but by no means a bad microphone, infact it's a little gem that has worked wonders for me and works just as well in a studio as it does live.

Only thing I would say is if your lending this out to anyone don't forget to remind tem that it IS a condensor microphone and so requires phantom power!
