The Violet Design Amethyst Vintage mic benefits from a 6-micron Mylar capsule, gold-sputtered to provide fast transient response without sound colouration. This is brought together in a manufacturing process that includes individual performance testing and measurement in an anechoic chamber to guarantee that stringent quality standards are met.

The meticulous attention to detail during the design and manufacturing process have resulted in a very low noise mic, a flat frequency response, and high output. A slight mid-range lift and additional high-frequency presence boost help to produce a modern tonal response to match current recording preference. For this reason the Amethyst Vintage is ideally suited to solo vocal and instrumentation applications.

The Amethyst Vintage comes supplied in a wooden case and comes with a matched elastic suspension shockmount. As with all Violet Design products,the Amethyst Vintage also benefits from a 5-Year Warranty covering component or manufacturing defects.
