Blue mics deliver exceptional studio mic design and attention to detail.
The Blue Mouse is a condenser mic specifically designed for bass vocals and instrumentation. With solid bass-end response, this innovative design allows for rotary position changes to adjust to your exact requirements.
The Mouse's hand-tuned capsule is specifically designed to capture the thundering lows of bass and baritone vocals and low-end instrument sources. Enclosed within a rotating spherical grille, the capsule can also be positioned and adjusted into the smallest of spaces for applications where versatility is paramount. The Mouse is perfectly suited for kick drums, acoustic bass, electric bass amplifiers, snare drums, broadcast and voiceover work, and any other sources where accurate reproduction of low frequency transients is paramount.

Don't let the name of this mic fool you into a false sense of Mouse insecurity. From the ground up this mic is built with fantastic Blue quality including the cherry wood plush case to the very sturdy shock mount. The swivel head cap is actually extremely useful when ‘tuning’ spill and getting the mic into intricate placements and the microphones built-in shock resistance is extremely good. I’ve never ‘had’ to use the shock mount even when using this on snares, kicks and your favourite lower pitched ‘stomping’ vocalists. The sound of this microphone on bass instruments in extremely clean! No walking into the control room and not hearing what’s coming out of the cab. Very good low frequency response and I do find this microphone performs best really close to voices to emphasise the mics richness. My Mouse has had constant use on outside kick for over 2 years (even sat ON the outside head by accident on one stupidly heavy hitting kick player) and it’s still going strong. The mic has very dynamic low mids on outside kicks, great for adding some thump to your inside mic. On snares it has given me a strong fundamental with lots of pop and sparkle, not for every session you’ll do but still very nice for a ‘real’ sounding snare. For me, this mic excels on bass cabs. Get this Mouse up close (3-4inches from grille cloth) to your bass cheese and get caught in the trap! Fantastic reproduction of the cab that no bass player can argue! Do be careful of overusing those lows! The presence peak really does lend itself to vocalists and push them right to the front of a mix. You could really use this mic anywhere! I really do feel like I’ve gotten the cheese with this one.
